In steel or cement industries, given that the air currents contain sand or metal dust particles, they act like sandblasting while passing through the equipment. In such industries, due to high corrosiveness, it is not only necessary to use sheets with special alloys and high thicknesses to make dampers.
Rather, a damper must be placed in the path of the passing air so that some of the particles in the air settle in a part of the duct due to their weight and remove them from the circulation path. These types of dampers are called dust dampers or sawdust dampers.
